We are doing the best we can to help the regeneration by reducing the number of pests so that the local bird life can thrive and flourish and help to spread the seeds.
Pests
Count of captured and killed pests since November 2006:
Magpies: 175
Possums: 600
Hares & Rabbits: 175 (Actually Loki brings in most of the rabbits.)
Rodents: Lots (The cats made me put this up, they are very proud.)
Goats and Pigs are increasingly becoming a problem, but thankfully we are staying on top of them:
Goats: 30
Pigs: 50
And to counteract the pests, we’ve been planting native trees.
