Postponed a week so I could arrive home and settle back in from my awesome European pilgrimage, it was great to be home at Haven again.

I was, however, slightly dismayed at all the growth that had been going on whilst I was away… What happened to winter?! The grass was rampant and one of our pear trees was in full blossom!

So much of the dig day was about clearing back the trail corridor, mowing the roads and Lisa had done a great job of spraying most of the tracks whilst I was away.

I am pleased to say everything is looking sparkly and manicured and with a week or two of settled weather on the radar, it’s a perfect time for riding… If you fancy a bit of night riding, it’s good fun here too, not too many possums to play with though. The long days of summer are definitely gone.

But wait, that’s not all, we have a brand new track finished as well, the Paddock Racer, 338m of flat fun that cries out to be raced at full speed. See if you can get round the all corners at full noise without touching your brakes! The exit may or may have a fun obstacle built to get over the fence – we haven’t decided yet. It’s just been sprayed so will get faster and faster as the grass dies off. We have plans afoot to plant this out over winter as well, so it will be a forest in no time.

We have had plenty of visitors coming round and joining up and a bunch of people renewing their membership, thanks for the support, we appreciate it. We are just starting to hit our bootstraps, long may it continue.

We have an established network of trails enough to keep the most ardent rider happy and cunning plans for a lot more fun trails and the skills and picnic area should be completed this year.

Spread the word, make contact and come out for a hoon.
